Acupuncturist (Tacoma, Washington)

Acupuncturist will support the acupuncture capability for the Department of Pain Management, Interdisciplinary Pain Management Center. The Acupuncturist will be significant to the “Integrative Modalities Plus Psychological, Physical and Occupational Restoration Trial” (IMP3ORT) study at the Interdisciplinary Pain Management Center (IPMC) at Madigan Army Medical Center. The acupuncturist work will be performed at Madigan, Department of Pain Management, Interdisciplinary Pain Management Center (IPMC), Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA. 


Requirements: 
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Acupuncture approved by the appropriate State agency and/or accredited Board of Certification through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOMR) Accrediting Commission and the Washington East Asian Medicine Practitioner license at the time the program was completed and passed the Clean needle technique exam. 


Must be able to obtain clinical privileges to practice medicine at the MTF where services are provided. Exceptions to above education: Healthcare education in the military service or training in the military service which is accepted by the licensing body in the jurisdiction in which the individual is licensed as qualifying for fully licensed Acupuncturist licensure will be accepted. 


Must Possess and maintain a current unrestricted license to practice as an Acupuncturist in any of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Must have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. The American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers is the only program accepted.


Must have a minimum of one year of experience as an Acupuncturist within the last three years. Studies and experience specifically related to chronic pain management is desirable, but not required.
